Credit Acquisition
One credit is granted for 15 hours or more of lectures per semester.
For laboratory work, hands-on training and physical education courses, one credit is granted for 30 hours or more of classes per semester.
Credit Recognition
Grades of “D-” or higher for individual courses and a GPA of 3.0 or above are recognized as credits.
Credit Requirements (a minimum of 12 credits per semester are required).
Ph.D. Program: a minimum of 36 credits are required to apply for the qualifying examination
Graduate Thesis Research Course
• Allowed to be enrolled within the credit limit (12 credits for doctoral students). ※ Credits exceeding the limit will not be recognized.
• Allowed tGraduate Thesis Research Courses can be enrolled more than once, but only once during one semester.
• Students may enroll only in the Graduate Thesis Research Courses offered by their own department.
Course Registration …………………………………………………………………………………………………
Registration Period
• Incoming Students: February (registrations will open after the registration for returning students are complete).
• Returning Students: Approximately one month before the semester starts.
※ Exact dates will be announced every semester.
• Review the course catalog and announcements → Preliminary course registration → Final course registration
• Changes to course registration may be made during the first week of the semester.
Course Withdrawal
• Students may withdraw from their courses from the end of the course registration change period until the midpoint (2/4) of the semester.
• Log into MySNU → Academic Affairs → Class/Grade → My Courses → Course Drop (Regular Semester) → Select course → Enter the reason for withdrawal
→ Save → Submit → Get online approval from the course instructor
• Important Note: Only applications submitted to the department office by the midpoint (2/4) of the semester duration will be considered
• Withdrawn courses will be marked as “W” on the transcript.
