The Department of Health Science and Technology was established in March 2021 through an agreement between Seoul National University and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. Our goal is to train research and development experts needed in the medical field through an interdisciplinary curriculum that seamlessly integrates diverse academic disciplines with medicine.

With the advancement of cutting-edge technology, modern medical paradigm is evolving from the conventional one-size-fits-all patient treatment to precision medicine that takes into account individual genetics, environment, and lifestyle, enabling early disease prevention and management through personalized treatment plans.

Modern medicine demands the convergence of big data, artificial intelligence (AI), nanotechnology (NT), biotechnology (BT), and information and communication technology(ICT). This creates a growing need for experts adept at developing advanced healthcare technologies through interdisciplinary convergence.

Our department offers an integrated curriculum encompassing healthcare big data, healthcare AI, medical information ICT, precision medicine, genomic medicine, regenerative medicine, medical devices, and nanomedicine. We strive to cultivate experts who will lead the development and industrialization of cutting-edge medical technologies.
